work created as a full time employee at wizard it services / linuxmagic, inc.
To represent and promote MagicSpam to our global clientele through marketing and branding initiatives.
While working at LinuxMagic, the highest priority was the brand maintenance and promotion of their most important product, MagicSpam — a powerful anti-spam software developed by LinuxMagic specifically for the unique needs of internet and hosting service providers. The LinuxMagic team believes that spam protection should not only work well, but also be flexible, simple to manage, and reduce the load of their client's customer support.
MagicSpam protects millions of inboxes worldwide and works with most mail servers. While most anti spam solutions depend upon changing MX/DNS records, firewalls, or filters, MagicSpam works by halting junk mail before it reaches anyone's inbox, eliminating the need for costly overhead.
Using a method called Mail Server Profiling, MagicSpam can identify up to 97% of inbound attacks carried out by automated spam engines by looking at key indicators that tell if a message is coming from a real email server or an attacking spam bot.
While the majority of the work at LinuxMagic involved the MagicSpam software, most of it still remains under NDA. As such, the designs shown below are from the limited public work: the MagicSpam website, and promotional video.
A primary focus at LinuxMagic was the redesign of the website for MagicSpam. Since the site had not been updated in some years, it was very exciting to take on this project, as a website just may be the most important factor in securing a potential lead. The website must promote LinuxMagic's advanced technology through an up to date aesthetic sense. Modern sensibilities in a brand's profile can go a long way to build trust with any client, especially in the technology industry.
While working on the MagicSpam project, a large number of marketing and promotional materials were created, including ads (not public, for reseller use only), banners, and videos. Below are samples from a features video for the company's partnership with Plesk.
Describing the advantages and features of MagicSpam
Represents how inefficient the use of filters can be when dealing with spam; they only work for so long before a loophole is found and exploited.
Represents the advantages of MagicSpam, as it lives in the SMTP layer of email delivery (before landing in the inbox). Also demonstrates how MagicSpam is able to detect threats masquerading as legitimate servers trying to make a connection and instantly reject it.
Represent's MagicSpam's shared intelligence feature. Essentially, any server that is attacked sends that data back to MagicSpam HQ (LinuxMagic, Inc.), and that data is shared with all customers in order to eliminate all threats from that source.
